the circulation of blood. In 1628 he
published his great book De Motu Cordis/On
the Motion of the Heart. After studying at
Padua, Italy, under Fabricius, he set out to
question Galen's account of the action of the
heart. Later, Harvey explored the development
of chick and deer embryos. He was court
physician to James I and Charles I.
